This game proves that the sprite is not dead.

What do you like most about Gish, which is not found in most other games?

I like that Gish can't jump. He can only move, roll, get into a triangular shape and change his physical properties a bit.

Now I'm talking about moving and rolling, can't there be 6 extra keys for rolling or moving? I would map them on the numpad (4568 as the arrow keys for moving, 13 for rolling).
I rarely check this forum anymore. Feel free to send me a PM if you want my attention.

Well, I guess it's about the physics aspect of it. I really like the art direction, too, and wish there were more enemies and movie poster parodies, but it certainly is the physics element that sets Gish apart from other titles in the genre. It makes the parts where you get to interact with the level architecture more satisfying as it's based on a given and predictable ruleset rather than random triggers and movements you know from other jump'n runs. Having something respond the way you would it expect to is one of the things that makes a game fun.  It also means there's sometimes more than one way to address a problem if you simply know how to take advantage of the physics.

I love the way you can use heavy and sticky to help you to get places. Not sticky for climbing up walls, but sticky for grabbing onto the bottom of a ledge and swinging!

I love it because...
- it's 2D
- it's a jump & run game
- the physics in the game are nice
- the main character is made of tar
- it has a creepy atmosphere
- there are 2 alternative endings
- it has a level editor
- the graphics look nice, especially the light reflections on Gish
- Gish can be sticky and heavy

I love Gish because it's a unique game with a great physics engine.

...now if only it would have a dynamic water engine. Yeah, then I'd totally love the game.

a game with dynamic water engine... hmm http://www.pangeasoft.net/enigmo/index.html" target="_blank">thisl might just be what your looking for, but then it may not.

I like gish because... well... its beyond speech, certainly a unique sidescroller worth every cent... or more.
