Whispers to kvinge: The hint is visible inside the exe file, and it's the only one there is, unless CL have encrypted the rest, which I doubt...

General Discussion / Combos??
August 03, 2002, 04:29:56 PM
Maybe we could put together a complete table of all combo levels on all difficulty levels...
Anyway, AFAIR,
130 blocks on Easy is a Great Combo,
199 blocks is a Super Combo,
241 blocks is an Excellent Combo,
352 blocks is a Mega Combo,
410 blocks is an Elite Combo
(these are not the minimum values, though).
;)
BTW, IMO playing on easy is much more fun than anything else, because there's a huge lot of stuff going on all the time http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> and incredibly long combos are possible... on the harder levels, the board gets filled up much faster, gameplay is much slower and the experience isn't nearly as rewarding (for me, at least).

I think a feature that would enhance the game in a good way would be a 'custom game' option with adjustable 'board' size, number of colors, drop time, game speed, gravity, etc. - for those who get bored with the standard game and/or want to experiment...

Also, I can imagine an 'enhanced' game mode with special blocks/powerups, for example if you manage to fill the bonus bar completely, a (controllable) 'ball lightning' could appear that energizes multiple blocks of the same color even if they are a short distance apart...

Additionally http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> . the block textures should be put in a .bmp file so that the player can replace them with his own.

So far my best score is 35175 on Hard in the demo...

P.S. I guess it was the wrong forum for this topic ;)

Has anyone tried Triptych yet?
I really like it, pushing and squeezing blocks around... The decade-old concept of columns still has potential!

The only 'problem' I have noticed is that sometimes blocks that look like they're touching don't energize until squeezed together properly - maybe the 'sensivity' should be increased a little bit...?

Is my PC playing tricks on me or does the 6.6.02 demo have a corrupted lightnin.wav?

Even on 'hard', I reach the limit every time, without trouble...
Guess that's what a demo is about http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

New Levels / No bridges!

I'll actually answer the question, for a change: I'm pretty certain there's no way to tell Pontifex to start with the camera on the left. I doubt this will ever be implemented since it's only useful for 'experiment' levels, not for normal gameplay.

New Levels / My MapPack

Pretty good levels. Well done!
Comments:
- The budget for level 8 is too high. I suggest about .
- Levels 4 and 11 are practically just repetitions of other levels (2 & 3), I say you should modify them.
- Maybe switch levels 13 and 14, so that the huge levels come last.
- I hate the one-anchor levels, too http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Kvinge: On average, I'd put them between the originals and the Map Pack 1.

P.S. nice .info domain there http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
