I like to think that the asemetric twist is intentional. It is more realistic that way anyway.
but I do not think it is random because then some bridges would only fail some of the time

I didn't enter the contest but I downloaded the file(just for kicks). and I thought that the winner would build a bridge a lot like grays. the thought never crossed my mind that the type of bridge calis build would win.

this would be really helpful for cablestay bridges. (I hate it when the deck breaks near the edge)
