Title: Custom Levels in 1.5?
Post by: slthytove on December 22, 2007, 08:35:02 PM
Hello. I downloaded the recently-released 1.5 version of Gish for OS X (running Leopard here), and it's wonderfully smooth on my iMac!

I played through the game from start to finish (which I haven't done for a while, back when my main computer ran Windows), and found I was still hungry for some more Gish. So I decided to download some custom levels and custom campaigns from http://www.chroniclogic.com/~gishgame/.

The only problem is they don't seem to show up in the "Custom level" and "Custom campaign" boxes of Gish. I've tried putting them in the "level" directory inside the Gish.app package, and I've tried putting them in a "level" directory that's a sibling of Gish.app, and neither of those work. Did something get confused by the new bundling of the app?

What I've found does work is to bring up the level editor, type in the name of the level, hit F7 to load, and F1 to start playing - but that's a lot of keystrokes, especially when the levels are hard and you have to keep starting over. :)

I think I know what the problem is but won't be able to look at it tell the new year.  I will post when I have more information.

I have figured out the problem and fixed it, this will be included in the next release, probably late next week.

This problem is fixed in version 1.52 which can be downloaded in the normal download locations now.
