This will be fixed in the next patch, which is coming soon.
I lost all my lives in the single player game on hard mode with about 60,000 points and got a game over, but when I checked the high score afterwards, my old score of 35,000 or so was still there, instead of the new score. This leads me to believe that high scores aren't saved on hard mode, which is probably a bug that should be fixed...
