I agree, concrete or wood would be good additions, but I don't think asphalt is used very often as a structural material.

we have heavy and light steel elements .. those can handle both compression and tensile loads ..

we have cable .. which can handle only tensile loads, but no compression loads ..

but why do we not have concrete .. which can handly only compression loads, but no tensile loads ?

it dowsn't have to be concrete how about asphalt or another thing we could have is wood maybe
