I beat my old 41.24 at collection level 20 by a tenth of a second. Apparently I didn't lose my skill after not playing for a long time.
8192x3840 overview of C20 (1.1 MB, 90 MB uncompressed), generated by a little program that I put together. Originally I used gamma-corrected blending, but dark transparent regions became much brighter than probably intended.
I have made overviews of all levels now, and corrected a not-so-blatantly-obvious problem in the previous one (the copy on the server is left uncorrected). It's more than I can reasonably host (55.3 MB) and I'm not sure if Chronic Logic would like it if I posted them all.
Oh! Haha! The old record's replay was there when I downloaded gish! I had no idea it was you who did that! I couldn't even come close to beating that collection level, let alone getting under 41 seconds on it. Wow.
No, i'd say you haven't lost your skill...
EDIT: oh wait.. That wasn't you in the already-in-gish replay, was it? The roy sawyers person got about 38 seconds in that level. hmmm...
Yeah, a 38.4 s replay of Row Sawyers (not me) is distributed with the game. He seems to have some sort of relation with CL: his name always appears in the credits.
Did you like the overview image?
The overveiw is neat. I didn't know you could do that sort of stuff with gish. Was it hard to write the program to do it?
The level format is pretty simple, but raster data is encrypted. I snatched encryption/decryption code from a now-gone basic level editor by Chicken1. I still obviously know how the encryption/decryption works, but I don't know if CL wants me to publish it. If any of them reads this, can we get an answer?
