Heavy can do it as well... it's just a little harder.

General Discussion / What do you like most about Gish?

A poll without fixed answers: http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

What do you like most about Gish, which is not found in most other games?

I like that Gish can't jump. He can only move, roll, get into a triangular shape and change his physical properties a bit.

Now I'm talking about moving and rolling, can't there be 6 extra keys for rolling or moving? I would map them on the numpad (4568 as the arrow keys for moving, 13 for rolling).

- Yes, from Gish's point of view a key on one keyboard is the same as that key on another, so you should use different keys on different keyboards. They can be close to the default locations, because your hands dont' get in the way.
- Like me, you're lucky that you're running it on the Mac. (Most?) Windows PC's start complaining (they beep and don't respond to the keyboard) if you press 4 or more keys (sometimes even 3).
- Much hardware will work, but you can't assign the axes yourself (CL: hint). Not really handy if you want to use the throttle on a joystick for up/down, and yaw of flight simulator foot pedals for left/right. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

General Discussion / 5-5 HELP!

Well, OK, momentum (which depends on inertia - I meant like you have inertia, use it) is better, but if I said that you wouldn't have any fun.

Find out what those buttons do, and see what you can do with that.

Figure this very simple thing out yourself. That's much more fun. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

General Discussion / Warp Zone

How did you do that? I could only find blocking tiles and two pits (one of them is invisible somehow) that end about 80 (!) tiles above the bottom. Edit: well, OK, my reader does make some strange mistakes, but your pit is still not really possible... Edit again: fixed that. There is just one big pit at the right, nothing else. I'm really curious where you fell through exactly. Can you draw it on a screenshot?

You really have to check out the second pit at the left. It's a surprising ride. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

ive looked in every possible place, banged into anything crushable,

Obviously you didn't.

got stuck under so many things,
Not needed.

I won't tell you more, because finding them yourself is much more fun and satisfactory.

Btw, I found the first three warp zones, of which 1 is best imho. 2 is so limited, and 3, argh! http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

The replays are written to gish/replay/username-levelnumber.gre. In Gish you only need to type something like Jonathan-10. You have to figure out which number is for which level yourself...

still, there are some bugs with collisions, died a lot when just jumping on small surfaces,

You lose you energy when some part of Gish is too flat. And you get very stretched (=flat) when you jump on a small surface...

or did not took any damages while run over by giant rocks while in heavy form.
That's what heavy is meant for. 4-7 proves that. Try 3-7 if you want to test the limits. http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
(btw, I know you can do some really strange things while being heavy, including tarball mating)

After, I think, about 3-4 hours playing I got the good ending. That amount of time includes a huge mistake at the last level...

...

I can't really explain what's so difficult about it, so try for yourself. ;-)

I accidently did it again. Some screenshots:

Just floating there (pulled to that Y location), and very slippery.

I bought it a few days ago, and immediately started playing it. After, I think, about 3-4 hours playing I got the good ending. That amount of time includes a huge mistake at the last level...

I could get her into the pit fairly easily (switch at the right, luring her into the closed pit (if you do it very careful she can get stuck), switch again), but I didn't notice the button at the top left. I was trying different timing etc, because I thought it was the only way. But now it really begins... I finally noticed the button at the top left, but I accidently pulled it out of the ground a bit, after which it didn't act like a button (and I couldn't see what happened with the pit)... I thought I needed to do something with that, so I tried to get the whole thing out of it for minutes. Once I got the button out of it (!) it was floating in the air, only able to move horizontally (it's pulled to a specific Y location with lots of force). I started trying messing with the switch again, but combined with the floating button. Something actually happened with the pit, but I didn't know exactly why (when interacting with it it waves up and down a lot, so it's hard to figure out). After trying various other things I finally found that moving it below the position it's pulled to opens the pit, so I tried to get that super-slippery thing (no single wall is even 1/4 times as slippery) that is pulled with lots of force to that Y location below the bar (so it can't move up again). After lots of tries I got it below the bar, but it was rotated too much, so it moved out of that position! After getting the same result a few times I finally managed to get it at the right position, and the pit remained open! I could finally end the game...

I can't really explain what's so difficult about it, so try for yourself. ;-)

Everything you mention is simply physics. There are some strange things that can happen, but you didn't mention any of them.
