Notice about any problems with Pontifex II
------------------------------------------------
Pontifex II requires a video card with full OpenGL support. 99% of all problems experienced with Pontifex II are because of video drivers. WindowsXP does not install OpenGL drivers. If Pontifex II is not working correctly, running very slowly, exiting or crashing at new screens, or the mouse is very jerky You need to install video drivers from your video card install CD, or even better download the latest drivers from your video card manufacturers web site.
------------------------------------------------
System Requirements
------------------------------------------------
Minimum:
500+ Mhz CPU, 64 MB RAM, Windows 95/98/2000/Me, Linux,
OpenGL video card
------------------------------------------------
Video Cards
------------------------------------------------
Please use the newest available video card drivers for your system. Please make sure your video card supports OpenGL.
------------------------------------------------
Pontifex II Performance
------------------------------------------------
If you discover low display frame rates while running Pontifex II, try to reduce the detail level to low and/or make sure all the video options are turned off (lighting, reflect, shadows). You can find these options on the right side of the simulation screen in the game. If Pontifex II is still running slowly, you can press F6 to greatly reduce the graphics. This should improve performance.

Hardware Configuration
------------------------------------------------
A number of settings from Pontifex II can be changed with the Hardware Configuration. The Hardware Configuration is run from the Start menu->programs->Pontifex II->Hardware Configuration.
Hardware Configuration Options:
Resolution
click on the resolution you wish to run Pontifex II in. Higher resolutions will look better, but run slower. Some monitors/video cards may not be able to run the highest resolutions.
Fullscreen
Clicking fullscreen will toggle if you want to run Pontifex II full screen. If you have selected a resolution that is greater then your desktop resolution make sure you also select fullscreen, or you will not be able to see part of the Pontifex II screen.
Mouse Unlocked
Clicking this Option will toggle if your mouse curser can leave the Pontifex II window. This only effects Pontifex II while not running in full screen. If the Mouse Unlocked is highlighted you will be able to move your mouse off the Pontifex II window, but you will not be able to use the Pontifex II controls based on moving your mouse to the edge of the Pontifex II window.
Sound
This Option toggles sound on or off in Pontifex II. If you are having problems with Pontifex II crashing, try turning the sound off and see if it helps.
Interface
This Option toggles the Backgrounds, and Title screen for Pontifex II. When off Pontifex II will use a little less memory, but wont look as nice.
Text Color
Use this to change the color of the text in Pontifex II. By sliding the 3 color bars you can adjust the text color to whatever you like.
Low Texture Detail
Toggling this will make Pontifex II use only small textures. This will decrease the graphics quality of Pontifex II. If you have problems with textures not showing (Voodoo 3) toggle this on. This will also greatly decrease the amount of memory and video memory that Pontifex II uses
