oh and I'm not sure if it is a good idea to call the free game a 'demo'. It isn't a normal demo with huge limitations. Some of my friends not even tried the game because they thought that, it is 'only' a demo. I had to say them it isn't that kind of demo. I think you should call it zatikon basic or something like that. Or just say that zatikon is a free game and there is an addon for cash(this is the same kind of thing as the free mmorpg-s).

- maybe the random and the constructed rankings should be separated. but we can keep this composite ranking as well.
- playing first is a big advantage in constructed. it should be balanced somehow. for example the player who plays first could use less actions. and i think that, playing first should be decided random. (the whole situation is very similar to magic the gathering, where now the player who plays first do not draw a card.)

strange thing: this is the second time I play against ravean a random game, he leaves the game when he would loose and after that nothing happen. I stay there in the game, it is his turn and that turn never ends and I have to quit from zatikon and restart it.

fanatic: "trade places with enemy. Triggered on attack."
shield maiden: "receive unit's damage."

still: when a fanatic attacks a shielded unit, the "trade places" ability is canceled. I don't see why. The condition is only the attack and not the damage. There was an attack, but the damage was redirected to the shield maiden. What the damage comes from, if not from the attack? Is this a bug or this is the intended work of the abilities?

what about that, if assassin could use its kill ability only once in a turn? the cost would stay at 100. If it wasn't able to kill 2 or 3 units after the stun, it wouldn't be that devastating.
an other option: you could deploy the assassin only on the second half of the field(on the opponent's half of the field). The reason(I speak about random here): in most of the games where the assassin is too strong it is used as a defensive unit. This way you wasn't able to use it in defense.


I think that the randomness in poker is great. It gives enough success to the bad and medium players, they don't quit from the game. So maybe some randomness is OK here too. (though zatikon has the cooperative format and the invited games, where non-competitive players can find their games)

btw we should start a constructed league http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> anyone could register here in the forum with an army, and have a month to play the games against the other players (3 wins needed). I don't know if a magic the gathering like sideboard is needed(i think it isnt). We could start it in march.

OK, there are always better and weaker units, but it isn't irrelevant how big the difference is between them. So I think balancing is important.
And I don't see why you need bad units to find useful ones. If all the units is useful but in different situations and different armies, then I think that's just a great thing. And you really need the balance, because of the random format. i think when we say a unit is too strong we should specify which format we talk about.

I mostly play random. So here is what i think about some units in random:

Magus:
the magus is too strong. I think the spirit isnt that strong itself, I think in most games I don't even turn it into a spirit(but when I do I win the with it). I think the 3 great ability altogether is too good. The good about the spirit: it is like a clock, it gives the game a new dynamic, you have to win fast against it. If there is a problem, I think it isnt the unkillable unit, but that, maybe the "clock" is too fast. so maybe the 2 power or the 1 move would slow it down a bit(on the other hand, maybe it will never be changed to a spirit then). Or make tacticians to be able to kill a spirit(but this would take away the whole unkillable thing). Or make the token

Assassin:
i like the new assassin in random. If the other player isnt careful enough it can change a game from a win to an instant loss. I did not play it enough to say the ability it is broken(it is at least very strong though). The real problem comes when the other player has some token engine and you have to attack fast. Then it is not rare you cant kill the assassin because you dont have an unstunned unit there that could move around the stunned ones(the stunned units are like a wall in front of the assasin). Maybe it is just too cheap. or it would be better if it could kill only once per turn. or somehow the other player should know it is coming.

draco:
draco should be banned in random. it is almost impossible to win a game if you get a draco. (or maybe draco is too weak overall. I dont know if it is used in constructed or not.)

shield maiden + any unit that can heal:
it is very hard to beat this combo in random. Maybe they shouldn't be there together.

artificer:
Maybe it is just me, but I dont like it in random. Sometime it is very strong(when the opponent has an enchanter or/and a geomancer or some other expensive units that now become useless), sometime it is totally useless. And because it is a 350 unit, when it is useless it means lot. So you or your opponent gets a crippled army when you get the artificer.

I see the changes as a good thing. All the units with new abilities are fun to play. The knight, the warrior, and yes the assassin http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I dont know if the assassin is too strong, but at least it is an interesting ability and not a boring one. I like the game won and lost by the assassin. It is a tricky unit http://www.pontifex2.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Maybe we just have to learn to play against the assassin(or just need to make it more expensive).

I think that's great, you can play unranked games. It is a space for more play with not that serious constructed armies.

Please fix that disconnection bug!! it is very frustrating. I played 3 games today against xsherlock and ALL of them finished with a disconnect (there was one more disconnection against an other player). And it is a very bad marketing when new players are talking in the lobby about that they were disconnected again...
I really tempted to give up playing the game until you fix this...
