Title: change Gish resolution
Post by: jasker on November 19, 2004, 02:25:30 AM
I recently got a new monitor, and it can't do the same resolution as my old one... unfortunately Gish was last run at this resolution; is there a way to change what resolution it runs at from outside the program (or is there a way to run Gish in some sort of 'safe' mode)?

Thanks.

You need to modify the ints 0x4 (width) and 0x8 (height) in gish.cfg. Try a hexeditor.

Just delete the gish.cfg file in your gish folder and Gish will default back to 800x600 full screen.  I think any monitor should be able to run that, then you can start the game and change it to what you like.

Ok, apparently it was an issue with my monitor drivers, I had to change the max resolution it supported in the ATI Control Panel. I got it fixed.  Thanks!

Anyway, you can enter crazy resolutions in gish.cfg. They will even work if you don't go past your max viewport size. Note that it always uses a 4/3 ortho view.

Oops. :)
