Title: Modding?
Post by: Jaenis on September 12, 2007, 04:05:02 AM
Excellent game, although it was a bit short.

So, I am curious, is it possible to create any kind of mods of this game? I suppose that currently game engine don't support it, but modding would make the game last longer. Now it was done in one evening and I'd still want more.

There is already skirmish option, but that's not the same as human designed battles. So, if the game is still "in developement", I'd suggest some kind of modding support.

For example place all mods (i.e. missions) to a specific folder and have a screen in game to choose one of these. Selected mod folder would contain the level data - which enemies are attacking in which phase. And probably even some extra unit or background data (much harder to implement than just who-attacks-when data)

Thanks for your feedback Jaenis,  currently KE does not support any kind of modding.  We have thought of some ways to make it possible.  We are also looking at re-designing Skirmish mode.
